Update on BTK
Well, for those of you who didn't watch the press conference, BTK has been arrested. The Wichita PD, Mayor, et al, were practically shouting with glee. The suspect is described as "a churchgoing family man and Cub Scout leader." In the press conference, the DA was adamant that everyone understand that, while there is no statute of limitations on homicide, these crimes were comitted prior to Kansas's adoption of the death penalty.A source close to the investigation told the Associated Press on Sunday
that Rader had confessed to at least six slayings.
“The guy is telling us about the murders,” the source said on condition of
anonymity.
Investigators also are looking into whether he was responsible for
another three killings — including at least one that occurred after the
restoration of the Kansas’ death penalty in 1994, the source said.
If they can give him the death penalty, I expect they will.
