Another Litvinenko-style Murder?
Just when I had finally gotten the spelling of Alexander Litvinenko's last name down pat, comes this story and a new, far worse spelling headache.The sudden death overnight of an exiled Georgian billionaire and close friend of exiled Boris Berezovsky is reportedly being investigated as a Litvinenko-style murder as a precaution.
According to the report, an assassination plot came to light in recent weeks that targeted Mr. Badri Patarkatsishvili and he was in fear for his life.
Two things occur to me.
First, Boris Berezovsky's friends don't live long. Now, that may not be Berezovsky's fault, but it is still pretty chilling.
Secondly, death seems to be a staple of old Soviet politics. Scary shit.
